What are laptop/tablets considered in Google?

Got an interesting question today in a meeting. A client has one of those laptops where you can pull the keyboard off and it becomes a tablet, but it runs a full operating system like a laptop. When looking at device reporting, how does Google classify this, desktop or tablet?

Thanks.

Good question!

According to this it has to do if it has a mobile operating system.  And, the size of the screen.  A laptop has a screen larger than 7".

Hi, I have wondered about this myself.

This should be classified as a full computer under two conditions:

1- The operating system is not that of a mobile device such as a tablet or a smartphone.

2- The size of the screen should be more than 7 inches measured diagonally.

Now, it would be an interesting experiment to take one of these devices and submit a test contact form on your website and see what google analytics classifies it at right after.

I have not done this myself but should be interesting to see.

Regards.
