Happy Thursday Y'all.  Almost the weekend.  Although... I have to work this Saturday.  There perks of being a digital marketing startup.

I wrote two articles in Learn.

Partnering with Other Firms

It was fun going through the process of writing a longer article.  My agency is relatively new, under a year old.  There were a lot of growing pains, defeats, and victories.  If you have a topic you'd like me to write about, let me know!

I like the partnering piece, breaks it down nicely and simply. As for what to write about, i don't know where to start . . . something I've been curious about lately is different setups for account management, for instance comparing having a single account manager with their hands in all aspects of a client's account vs having specialized roles people fill in each account like a PPC specialist and social marketing specialist.

Hi, Spike! We tend to separate it out per people's specialties or passions. But, ownership of the "channel" stays w one person. Like only one person managing Adwords, but maybe someone else manages Facebook. Usually we try to keep only one person talking to the client, unless for some reason that's creating a bottleneck.

I can certainly write an article about that. It's been on my mind. I handle accounts from top to bottom... but I've always felt that wasn't the best way to optimize. I've always felt it would be better to have different people do AdWords/Bing vs. Facebook/Instagram/Snapchat vs. Content/SEO. That person would be able to become an expert. Although being a jack of all traits is probably ideal for smaller startups like mine. Smiley Happy

That's the structure I hope to have one day. Having experts in various channels makes sense. Today, we are a bit understaffed so the same person handles the Facebook, snapchat, PPC, and SEO for each client account. There's a lot of inefficiencies: i.e. media buying off something like Centro DSP is a nightmare if you are a beginner.
