Shopping Reminders are the latest addition to the ways in which Google Adwords is becoming more consumer friendly. It is kind of a location based bookmarking service whereby you can be reminded of a business when you are in physical proximity to it. If you are doing a search on Google for a product or service and you are interested in what you see in a search ad you can tap the Shopping Reminders button and then the next time you are near the business that was running the ad your smart phone will alert you to the reminder so you remember to stop in..

The Shopping Reminders service makes use of Google Now cards. Now Cards are also a relatively new introduction but are already being adopted by many big sites and apps including Google’s ow Waze (more on Waze ads soon). If you would like to learn more about Google Now Cards you can do so on their site here (Note: the english version of the site would not load for me so the link is to the GB-English version of the site).

Interesting... I haven't noticed these "in the wild" yet. How are the NOW cards different than GMB?

data for (automated) extensions have various sources,
typically based on the type of information displayed.

for example, business-hours are sourced from google-my-business data;
for example, product-listing-ad extensions are mainly sourced from
submitted product (feed) data and related merchant-center settings;
for example, seller-ratings are sourced from ratings-data that
google automatically collects and aggregates on google/shopping.

in this case, the extension presented is sourced from a user-configured
now-card (store-reminder) alert, google-my-business, location-based-ad,

and related account information -- e.g. location-extensions.

there are also google-now, price-drop and in-store, cards --
with data, in part, from the purchases-on-google-program.

generally, google now has a framework for user-configured ads --
combining data that is partly controlled by users, collected from
third-parties, and submitted by advertisers, that together helps
present more relevant, personalized, ads, algorithmically.

of course, for details contact a support representative.
