Excitement of a new campaign

We all have it - we think all the preliminary data points to a specific campaign strategy. We execute that strategy with all the excitement in the world.

A week later, poof. Nothing special happened.

We all go through these flops. How do we handle that surge of emotions?

Me, I go nuts trying to figure out what could have been done differently.

"It can't be!!!"

You?

No more excitement for me. I've lived (read survived) so many campaign disappointments, that I don't allow myself to get excited until I hear the "cha-ching" of conversions pouring in. I do keep at it, once the campaign is launched until every possibility of optimization is exhausted.

I watch over time and let the data tell me where to put my efforts.
