10 Unexpected Places to Find PPC Clients

Happy Friday Y'all.  Here's 10 places I found PPC clients and a short description of how to go about it.

1. Part Time Remote Jobs on Linkedin

When someone lists they want to hire part time and is willing for the person to work remotely... they are saying they will hire a freelancer/ agency.

2. Craigslist

Clients generally won't have much money.  Offering $500 trial packages works well.  I no longer do it... but it's a great way to start.  From what I learned, Craigslist is about renewing you ads frequently.

3. White Labeling

You take over another agency's accounts and you behave as an employee.  But you aren't really.  This opportunities usually happen through referral.

4. Referral from Other PPC Specialists

I have a friend.  She works at a large PPC agency and is happy there.  However, she gets contacted a lot for part time / full time work.  She drops my name a lot and I've found clients this way.  It's good to have friends.  Smiley Happy

5. Upwork

My experience with Upwork.com has been mixed.  I've found several PPC clients with larger budgets, however they left after a month... or not even.  They exist. I'm just not sure how to retain them yet on that platform.

6. Events/Conventions

Nothing beats meeting people and talking to them in person.  Go to startup events (startups always need marketing).

7. Joint Ventures

You can get a lot of clients (albeit smaller ones) by teaming up with a graphic design firm, content firm, events firm, etc.  These firms don't normally do PPC.  It's a good way to barter clients.

8.  PPC Campaigns

Since we sell PPC, it only makes sense we promote ourselves using it.

9.  Blogging

Not only is it relaxing, it's a way to show clients you are human.  For us, we use it to relate to other small businesses... since we too are a small business.  We worry about the same things, salary, overhead, rent, etc.

10.  Hand Written Letters

These work incredibly well.  No one does them anymore... probably why they work well.  I send 4 hours every Friday writing these to local business.  The conversion rate is 3X higher than other forms of advertising we do.

Hopefully this helps.

Thanks. I realized I had only written 7... and the other 3 didn't paste over. Haha.

These are great! We do a lot of these right now. I have the same feelings about Upwork - They do seem to "churn" more than other clients, but I have met some great people there too. It's a lot of work to sift through the garbage though! I used a lot of Craigslist when I first started out. I tried LinkedIn, but had terrible luck there! I'd love to hear from people who had good success on LinkedIn.

I've noticed the chum in Upwork. Once you make the account... I think they hire someone else to manage it. And it saves them money. There is a lot of garbage for sure. Linkedin has been pretty good for us. Craigslist not so much. I'm not sure why we still continue to do Craigslist.... haha.

Wicked post Tony! Handwritten letters hun.... It is because no one is doing them anymore, of course, they would be more effective. It makes perfect sense and I will get on it right away.

Thanks so much for sharing your approach with everyone, very valuable stuff.
