New user here. I was testing waters of AdWords express with an ad promoting a blog with promotional codes for discounts on services. When I first setup the site on wordpress.com I had the free account with a long *.wordpress.com domain. Even so, the initial ad was approved and running fine. I decided it would be more professional to buy a domain name and upgrade the wordpress account to support custom domain names. After doing this I went to create a new ad with new domain name. I waited a few minutes and then noticed red banner with account suspension notice! What? No warning? I was shocked! Surely it was a mistake. So went over policy and saw where an add can't redirect to another site..light bulb! I just created new domain and now have this violation..probably related. So after checking sure enough new domain was redirecting to old *.wordpress.com despite upgrading and adding domain. I went back to wordpress and discovered it wasn't set to primary. Fixed the issue and submitted the form regarding account suspension. An hour later received automated response from 'Elizabeth' saying account is in violation with policy and decision is final! At this point I am floored, I have never in my life experienced such poor and unhelpful customer service. Next I received an account suspension email regarding suspicious billing. Checked my account and there were a few old credit cards and old address listed. (which was odd because I entered new credit card and current address when I signed up) Corrected this and submitted another form, hour later same response. A few more hours pass and I receive ad disapproval warning! Are you kidding me? Why wouldn't that come first?? I have tried calling but once I enter customer number I hear a recording regarding suspension, suggesting I email (which I already have!) At this point I just came to the forum to vent and hope someone at Google will see this and realize they need to work on their customer service for future customers.

I wasn't only looking to vent, I was seeking advice and help from the community. I was hoping someone could provide some direction on where to go from here.

Hi Peter,

 

We are not able to access accounts, see any personal info, get involved with billing issues, ad approvals, account suspensions, etc... as we can only give advice on operating AdWords Express to the best practices standards. 

 

With that said, I can say they you have taken all of the steps presented to all. If you have resubmitted your account for review and resubmitted after that... and you are still suspended, there is not anything we, as the help community, can offer further.We are way down the chain... and AdWords Support it at the top.

What was the reason for suspension mentioned in the initial  email received from Google? (Look for this email - it is the key for understanding the issue)
Please share the URL of the site suspended.

I received this email AFTER I was notified my account was suspended!

Destination mismatch: The final URL that you entered for your ad uses a different domain than your landing page (the website where people actually end up). Your final URL can redirect only to URLs within the same domain. Again I am positive it was due to the new domain name forwarded to old wordpress.com domain name. I fixed that as soon as I realized what happened.  

 

The old url was:

genesisminingpromoblog.wordpress.com

 

The new url is:

genesismining.xyz

 

Like I mentioned previously I created a new ad with new url not realizing it was forwarding to old URL. I had added it to the wordpress account but it wasn't set to primary.  That was a mistake not intentional. Please help! I just started using adwords, I can't believe my account is suspended over a honest mistake.

Nope; WordPress is not the issue

 This violation  (display URL) does not lead to a permanent  suspension. This is a technical violation. Look for the initial email.

The issue is with your business model which (if I understand correctly) "...offers current promotional and discount offers that can be used at Genesis Mining.  Genesis Mining is a cloud mining company that offers contracts on hashrates for mining many cryptocurrencies

 

This business model is a violation of both the financial section of the Policy and the legal section. (Since virtual currencies do not have a legal statute  in any country)

So, I don't think this business model can be promoted on Google.

That was the initial and only email regarding violation, the ad was already running fine before I bought the new domain name. The only reason I was ever given (via email after being suspended) was destination mismatch. I have seen numerous bitcoin mining companies advertising on google before and currently, yet I was only trying to offer a discount code on purchasing bitcoin related services along with short blogs about services I have tried. However, I am not looking to do anything in violation of their policy.  I have since removed the ad and company from my adwords account, I wish I would of gotten a warning before hand. I assumed since others were advertising on Google (including the company I was blogging about) it was acceptable.

Not sure what suspicious payments as it was a new account and only had accrued $2~ in charges.  There was an old address and credit card on the account but those were removed before requesting appeal. At any rate, I still have not been provided a clear answer from Google as why the account was suspended.

Billing suspension is unrelated to  a Policy violation suspension. It could be that the system triggered both,  which were  unrelated to each other.
