Hi Anthony,

Welcome to AdWords Community.

What you are referring to can be ascertained better by CTR.

It depends on several factors like - the industry you are in, the kind of campaign you are running, the network (Search/Display) you are targeting, the geography you are targeting, and a few other factors.

If you are referring to Search Network campaigns, the average CTR can be estimated to be around 1.5% to 2.5%. If you are below it, you are definitely under-performing, if you are higher, congrats to you!

One more thing, even in the search network , CTR can differ highly based on the type of campaigns you have. If you are running a campaign with branded keywords, the CTR can go far more, usually 15% to 20%. Similarly, for RLSA campaigns CTR can again differ.

In short, it depends...

Thanks

Hi Anthony L,

1% CTR (click though rate) would be a good benchmark. High impressions and low clicks could mean your ads aren't effective or low avg. position or too broad keywords. Try working on these aspects to improve CTR. More info about measuring CTR here.

Good luck,
