splitting a campaign

Hello,

I have a geo-targeted campaign that includes multiple ad groups. I'd like to split the campaign into 2 or 3 campaigns and therefore be able to reduce or increase my spend and create relevant sitelinks as our business is seasonal. Any thoughts on the most expeditious steps to take to do this?

Thanks!

Hi, you can do this easily on Google Adwords Editor. Just Copy the existing campaign and keep or pause the ad groups which you need to test. Thats so easySmiley Happy

There could be few things which you might consider while splitting the campaign into desired campaigns:

You can look at the regional data and see which regions are outperforming others. Based on that, you might consider splitting the campaigns into converting regions campaign and non-converting regions campaign. Doing this will expose your ads more broadly and could assist in increasing conversions.

You can try to split the campaigns based on how keywords have been performing. Let's say you have a list of keywords with low CTR and not getting any conversions. You might build a strategy to separate these kind of keywords from the ones which are performing excellent in terms of different metrics.

These are few of my thoughts which you could apply in order to expand and get more return on investment.

Hope that helps!

I have a editor guide that may help you get started (very basic) and once you have decided your campaign split strategy it may help you get to grips with importing the initial campaign to editor for the first time:

AdWords Editor:

http://www.google.com/intl/en/adwordseditor/

AdWords Editor Help Center:

http://support.google.com/adwords/editor/?hl=en

Brief Guide:

As you can appreciate the guide was not made for the purpose of answering your question. However, if you want for me to spend some time in getting snap shots on how to copy/paste campaigns/adgroups then let me know. Primarilly I just wanted to help you get your account imported :-)
