I am attempting to make a managed placement on mail.google.com and combine that with KW phrase to tighten up the targeting

mail.google.com does not come up as choice.

nor does gmail.

What's the trick?

I get following at the "Search for placement ideas" prompt owing to the insertion of "mail.google.com"...

Hello ,

The trick is to add them manually as instructed here :

https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2404243?hl=en

There are 2 placements to use for gmail ( one with inbox top center) and the keywords will be regarded as simple broad even if you set them as phrase match because this is the way context targeting works.

Anyway I have found that this placement has a lot of competition , a little higher bids are required and it brings a good conversion rate.
