how to get my ad position 1

I need to urgently be the top ad on PPC but end up being 3nd and sometimes 4th. My competition is always ad rank 1. I have a group of keywords and have created some ads with phrase match and exact match.  I have worked with a Google adwords specialist to create a bid strategy that should get me position 1   - which automatically ups the CPC. However this isnt working either. Budget isnt a problem for the company i work for as they want position 1 only.

Can someone help? my quality score is around 6

Hi Knowledge,

Problem is most likely your QS, 6 is a bit low. Improve your QS by improving your CTR. If you have a large group of keywords in an AdGroup, consider splitting them up into more specific ad groups. Create more compelling ad copy. Test multiple ad copies to try to improve the CTR.

If you're not using sitelink extensions, add some relevant sitelinks. They affect the QS, too.

Best of Luck!

The competition is fierce - so wouldn't it take time to improve the CTR?
If i placed more keywords on the landing page that were in the ad copy would this work?

Hi Knowledge,

It will probably take some time to improve the CTR through testing. Appearance of your keywords on the landing page does little or nothing to improve your CTR or QS. Appearance of your keywords in the ad could improve CTR. That's why I suggested tighter ad groups, so the ad copy can be more related to the keywords. Remember that relevance, in Google terms, means relevance to the user. They measure that by CTR. People also always stress the call to action and impelling ad copy.

The landing page has a big impact on conversions.

Be sure to look at the competitive metrics, particular Lost IS share due to rank.

Best of Luck!

Hello,
Take care of few things
1- Work on landing page so that the quality score improves by adding the relevant content.
2- Are you using extension too? If not use extensions too to your ad.
