so I put up an ad and people are going to my website and clicking to my website. They go on Paypal but then don't buy and I don't have any record of who they were if they didn't sign up. Do I need to do display for retargeting? Is retargeting done automatically or is it an extra cost?

This is the link coming up.  Is this google adwords on mobile? Thank you for your help.

Hi Lori!

That link you provided is traffic from the google search app for android devices.

Typically, I will use the display network for remarketing as display ads are the best way to remind people about the products/services they have seen on your website, and encouraging them to come back and make a purchase. There is no additional cost or fees for remarketing.

Remarketing is something you will need to setup yourself. See for more info on setting up remarketing for you advertising.

Hope this helps!

Hi Lori,

Google adwords broadly offers remarketing on display as well as search network.

Get more details here:

The search remarketing is known as RLSA and show ads to the visitors who have already visited your website while they are searching again.
It need 1000 cookies(visitors) to get activated.
This is highly effective and and gives most relevant traffic as user is still searching for the same/similar service/product.

Then comes the display remarketing, where ads are shown on any website within display network to the visitors who has already visited your website.
It need 100 cookies(visitors) to get activated.

Now regarding cost:
Its upto you whether are want to start it with extra cost or on the same cost.
If you will create a separate campaign with a separate budget then ofcourse it will cost extra but if you ad these within a new adgroup of already created campaign(already having its own budget) then it will be adjusted within that particular campaign's budget.
But yes you will be paying for those extra clicks anyhow.
