exact match in search items

What does it mean when trying to add positive or negative keywords from the search item list that are listed as an exact match?  These items don’t want to be added to either the keyword list or the negative keyword list.  Am I doing something wrong?  Thank you for helping!

Hi Arise,

Are you talking about the Search term report? The different match types are there as an idicator how close was the searched term to the keyword in your account that triggered the ad. If it's exact match that means that that particular keyword is already in your keyword list. Be careful when adding "exact match" type keywords as negative, so you don't stop your ad(s) from showing.

Please read a few references I listed below:

1. Search term report

2. Understanding, Evaluating and Managing AdWords Key...

3. Keyword Match Types for Search Campaigns

4. What's the best match type to start with? Find out! (video)
