does AdWords consider variants in treating negative KWs?

Hi Smiley Happy

Just wanna ask. If an ad is appearing for a misspelled close variant of one of our keywords, should I use the misspelled form as a negative KW or the correctly spelled form?

Ex. ad appears for search on assualt

Should I set [assualt] as a negative or [assault]?

I know that the ideal thing to do is to be more specific instead of paying for a very broad KW such as assault. But still, if changing the KW is out of the question, which of the two forms above should I use as a negative?

Thanks.

Hi There,

No, you need to add singular, plural, misspellings as your negative
keyword. If you add assault, system will only block keyword having assault
and will not block asault. To block asault you need add it as negative.

Thanks
