deleting search ads

Hi,

I have a debate with a colleague and would love to hear more opinions.

we want to change all of the ads in our account, in order to add another tracking parameter (not something crucial to the campaign).
will deleting/pausing all of the ads in the account at the same time will have a negative affect on the campaign history / ad rank?

Thanks,

Neta

Hi Neta,

Yes, it will have a negative effect. You should think twice if t's worth doing. I mean you will not lose campaign history, however, the new ads will start from zero.

Even edits made to ads will trigger review and be regarded as deleting your existing ads and creating new ones. Hence you'll lose relevant history and suffer from all the consequences.

Best,
Lakatos

Hi Neta,

Deleting or changing ad text will result in treating adwords system as new ads and will definitely have negative impact on your ad rank. The campaign history would be there but ad history would be lost.

Manish
