Woke up one morning to find quality scores flattened; 1st page bids @ $100+

My highest converting ad group suddenly is showing quality scores of 1/10 or 2/10 for keywords in the group. Bids shot up from 35¢ - 50¢ to $80.00 - $100.00 PER CLICK. All keywords have this message:

Rarely shown due to low quality score

These are keywords with hundreds of conversions and good conversion rates. There are no duplicate keywords. No changes have been made to the campaign, the ad group, the ads, the keywords or the settings.

HELP???

How long has this account been running before it flat-lined?

Hey,

There was an update in the QS factors on the "04/24/2012" - you can read about how QS is being calculated in this link.

If you want to improve your QS you should read these things you can do to make your ads more relevant to your customers.

Cheers,

Asaf

Account has been running since last August, and is a spin off of an account that had run for 3 years prior.

  • The keywords in question appear directly in the ads.
  • The keywords in question directly describe the products.
  • The keywords in question appear on the landing page (which is an ecommerce store category page) multiple times, one for every one of the products featured on the landing page.
  • The keywords in question had a 7/10 - 10/10 quality score until this week.
  • The keywords in question have had decent click through rates, decent conversion rates, and triggered between tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of impressions before this week.

mouse over the status bubble next to one of your 1/10 KW's and let us know what the diagnostics say.

  • Although your ad is showing, its rank is not high enough to place it on the first page of search results. What can I do?

And I have keywords with 8%+ and 9%= CTR for the last 30 days that now are showing a quality score of 2/10.

Same message and same diagnostics.
