Why did AdWords axe position preference as a tool?
I know from looking at old info on the web that Google used to have this feature where you could optimize to increase the chances for a certain ad position in the auction? Why did Google axe this feature? I know for certain ads that CTRs may be higher in certain ad slots (not necessarily in top slot (1-3) or even in the top slots. Did Google feel that this was affecting the auction process negatively?
