Hello;

By saying  "taking up to four places on the  first page of Google" - do you mean Adwords positions?

If so, can you upload a screenshot of the search results page showing that? This  could be a violation of the double serving section of the Policy.

Hi Paul C,

That doesn't sound quite fair, does it? Have you filed a complaint with Google about them?

Or, as Moshe suggests, upload a screen shot and we may be able to escalate your issue through this forum.

@ Rakesh;

I will refer the case to Google asking to investigate;

For future specific cases, to be escalated,  please open a new discussion. It is difficult to refer to Google more than one case per thread (everyone gets confused...)

Thanks!

My Issue i want to raise with google which i think EFFECT`S EVERYONE USING ADWORDS is that company`s are setting up multiple websites with high SEO Rankings AND are taking over the first page of google.

They are also using google blog authorship and getting a nice eye catching picture on some of there listing`s.

I cannot understand why google is allowing this as it drastically weakens the exclusitivity of an adword ad

and is slowly making adwords unuseable.

I would of thought that google would want to protect the first page of google and keep it as exclusive as

possible for there paying adwords advertiser`s,not allowing company`s who do not want to pay google for

advertising manipulate the first page of google TAKE AWAY business from adword`s user`s.

Cant they see this is making adwords less efective and less desirable to use because of this.

I have personally lost alot of confidence in advertising with google because of this and i`m sure im

not the only one.

I hope this help`s you understand what i am trying to explain And thanks for your replies.

Paul

Why is Google allowing this? Simply because there's nothing they can do.

Take Rakesh' screenshots for example. This is an extreme case but all could be "legitimate". Each site could be owned by different people. In fact, they'd have to be to follow the rules, different accounts with different billing info. We and Google may suspect that behind the scenes, it's all the same company but they can't prove it. I don't even know if they have systems to try to catch this sort of this in the first place, probably not since you're not the first one to complain about this. Each site effectively acts as an affiliate of the main site.

In Rakesh' example, they are so brazen, they don't even bother to change the ads. They are all the same, although to be fair, I've seen affiliate ads all the same before. The merchant tells their affiliates how to put up ads and they all follow the script as is without bothering to make any changes. I think the merchant should monitor this as it does not look good on their brand. Then again, most probably don't care.

This sort of thing is not rampant but it does happen and I can understand how it can make you lose confidence. In any case, the way to beat this sort of work-around the rules is to beat them at Adwords. Build a better campaign and overtake your competitor's ads. No matter what happens on the outside that you can't control, work on what you can control.
