hello,

planning change menu position of client website

example :

HOME - SERVICES- ABOUT US - CONTACT US (CURRENT)

            SERVICE 1

            SERVICE 2

            SERVICE 3

TO:

HOME - SERVICE 1 - SERVICE 2- SERVICE 3

AND ABOUT US CONTACT US (SOMEWHERE IN A FOOTER)

Link example: mywebsite.com/services/service1.html

and new one mywebsite.com/service1.html

Queston: How it affect my Ads, QS and CTR

Thank you

Hello ,

Only the QS could be influenced a little if you change the landing pages , something you didn't mention changing in your message. CTR will depend on the Ads and Ads depend on copywriting so no influence there.

The change could be in the conversion rate if visitors do not see the contact data quickly, like in the upper left corner. I see a problem in putting the contact us link to the bottom.

Hi Adrian ,
thanks for your reply
I do not changing (content of landing page )
All ads will be connected to the same landing page with same content
but destination url changing :
Link example: mywebsite.com/services/service1.html
and new one mywebsite.com/service1.html

If you plan on changing the Ads due to this URL change, there are several aproaches without visual impact to the user :

1) Only changing the destination URL and keeping the Display URL which makes your Ads look the same and probably keep their CTR rate even if old ads become new ads due to this change . I base my theory on what I read from here :

https://www.en.adwords-community.com/t5/Manage-ads/Change-entire-ads-in-account/m-p/270219/highlight...

2) Changing the destination URL of the keywords instead of the Ads , which will keep ads unchanged according to what I understand from this message :

https://www.en.adwords-community.com/t5/Manage-ads/Change-the-AdWord-filename-from-a-html-to-a-php/m...

https://www.en.adwords-community.com/t5/Improve-results/Keyword-destination-URL-vs-Ad-destination-UR...

Basically the landing page relevance reported in AdWords should not vary with the destination URL if the content is the same. The user experience is evaluated based on the content of the landing page.
