Use Remarketing for different domain?

Hi Folks,

I've scoured Google's online help and couldn't find answer to this. I've got a client that's about to run an online contest. They'd like to use remarketing to show ads that link to their contest website (clientcontest.com) to people who visited their regular website (client.com). Is this technically possible? If so, any idea it would violate Google's rules?

Hi David,

Welcome to the community.

I don't see an issue with this at all.  The remarketing list/audience is a cookie pool that you create and can target with any campaign in your account, just like a predefined audience.  You can have multiple domains within accounts and clearly can have multiple campaigns too.

Set up your remarkeing code now, create a new display network campaign to target the remarketing audience and use the ads and site for the contest.

No problem at all.

Hope this helps!

Hi David,

It is possible and not very difficult if you advertise both sites within the same account. You would place the remarketing code on the regular website (client.com). Then, when you create the remarketing campaign, use that list and ads for the contest site.

This would not violate Google's rules.

Best of Luck

Hi Dave,

just don't put ads directing to different sites in the same ad group. They would get disapproved.

Hello,

I have a similar question. Can I use more than one domain to bring in traffic to my remarketing campaign. I have a website for each town within a 10km radius all selling the same items but specific to that town, can I use townX.com, townY.com and townZ.com to get my min 100 users before remarketing will start to work? I hoe this makes sense.

Yes you can use different website but better strategy will be to target all from the same website by creating different geographical sections. You need to have approx 100 users to initiate re-marketing.
