Title and URL - Do they matter for QS / Ad Rank?

Hello,

Does it matter if we alter (optimize) the meta Title and URL to include some specific keywords for the sake of QS ?

For example, let say initially we have this complicated URL www.mydomain.com/Browse/ID72/14418875/ c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CGarden+and+DIY%7C14418702/c_2/2%7 Ccat_14418702%7CBarbecues%7C14418875.htm

And it has no optimized Title either.

But we know that it's main keywords is something about Garden barbecues.

Assuming we already have all the campaign setup properly, does it matter if we optimize the URL, let say become like www.mydomain.com/gardenbarbecues

With it's title as well "Garden Barbecues".

Without changing anything else, just that URL and Title, would it improve the QS (and ultimately the AdRank) for the relevant adgroup?

Hi  Blackkaviar,

Having easy URLs and appropriate Title and Meta to the page will definitely work towards positively affecting the QS. However, the result may not be immediate. You should give it some time. Also work with landing page to bring more relevancy to your adcopies and keywords.

Thanks

Hi blackkaviar,

Landing page experience is certainly a parameter of Quality Score. However, changes you've mentioned wouldn't have any effect (either positive or negative), as landing page experience is measured in terms of relevance & usefulness of content in the page. More about landing page relevance here.

Hello,

There is no definite explanation to this whether a Landing Page with updated on page optimization techniques will really serve the purpose of adding value to the metric called Quality Score. However, the aim should be to provide relevant content, genuine information, ease of navigation etc....which really adds value for the online user experience. The information what you give in your text or image ads should be backed up by your landing page for good customer experience.

One factor which does play a vital role is that you shouldn't be disallowing AdsBot crawler to review your landing page, otherwise you might run into bad Quality Score issues, which would further impact your Ad Rank.
