Think someone is clicking on my AdWords listings fraudulently

We have a problem where I believe the competition or someone else with malicious intent is clicking on our AdWords listings in order to charge our account for each click instead of being people who are potential clients of our services. This is a very common problem, as I understand. I have reason to believe it's only one person with a traceable IP address.

Karencole37,

It can happen but Google does have measures in place to refund you for click fraud. Check your AdWords User Interface for Invalid Clicks to see if anything is being filtered out http://support.google.com/adwords/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=6114 and you can see data on invalid clicks in your UI under the Campaigns tab - columns button - performance section. Or run an invalid clicks report under the Dimensions tab.

If you are still sure you have click fraud then you can pull your web server logs (talk to your hosting co or IT person) and look for repeat visits from the same IP address and then block that IP http://support.google.com/adwords/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2456098

You can troubleshoot and report invalid clicks through this troubleshooter http://support.google.com/adwords/bin/static.py?hl=en&ts=2557048&page=ts.cs&from=15950&rd=2
