Sitelinks showing the same data

Visitor ✭ ✭ ✭

Hello,

I was just playing around with sitelinks and noticed that I am getting the exact same data for both. (see image)

Shouldn't they be different, as it's unlikely that the exact same number of people would have clicked on both?

Is my set up incorrect?

Thanks!

Yes, segment by click type give the actual data whether headline, sitelink or click to call was actually clicked by the user

Hi Hin,
The reason that you are getting same data for each sitellink is (I believe) due to the fact that if a sitlelink appears and a user clicks on the ad - wherever they click on the ad - the sitleink gets a CTR credit.
so if an ad is shown with 4 sitelinks 4 times and there is one click then the ad, and each of the sitelinks gets a 25% CTR.

 Hi Hin,

Agree with Tushar. But I have experienced that my Sitelinks clicks and impressions are slightly different (not same exactly) and these numbers are always less than the campaign dashboard performance data because sitelinks doesn't appear each time when our ads appear in search result as you know.

Please find below the 2 sitelinks performance data screenshot:- According to the performance i always optimize my sitelinks. If you have only 2 sitelinks then i will recommend to create more sitelinks and then see the performance and optimize accordingly.

Hi,

To get the actual data related to sitelinks clicks, you need to access the Segment tab >> click type.

@Hin L;

Can you elaborate?

What data is shown in the screenshot?  Are you saying that when segmenting the data per sitelink, and looking at the clicks per sitelink (as explained in this link https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2375416?hl=en) two different sitelinks  showed the same (performance)  data?

@MosheTLV , @santosh s and @Archit after segmenting, I think it is making more sense.

Based on the screenshot, does this mean that everyone ONLY clicked on the headline and no one clicked on the site link itself?
