Shared budgets and campaign experiments

Hi, I've tried to start experiment in one of the campaigns using shared budget and got following message:

"Experiments are not supported for campaigns using shared budgets."

Using shared budget is very useful to me in few campaigns so I gave up on the experiment idea.

Needing to choose between shared budget and experiments is not nice so I am posting this as a feature request.

Thanks.

Hi dragansedam and welcome,

I don't think these 2 will ever be easily compatible because with experiments you are telling AdWords what you want it to do but with the shared budgets you'll letting it make it's own decisions on where to spend.

There are a few other features that are incompatible like CPA bidding etc.

I love using the experiments for testing landing pages so it may be worth removing the shared budget while you run your experiments and once you have your test data, make the changes and go back to the shared budget.

Hi purefuzz, thank you for the explanation and advice. As you've suggested, I'll just remove shared budget during the experiment.

is it possible to create a new campaign by duplicating the campaign (in the shared budget) i want to run a landing page experiment with, then turn that one into the experiment with its own budget?
