My server responce time is 1.5 seconds, and on Google insights its flagged up as should fix. Is this regarded as slow, what is Googles prefered responce time, and what are the implications of this on my adwords account?

Hi @Auction h,

A server response time of 1.5 is way above Google's recommendation. Google recommends to have it under 200ms. In most of the cases, a higher server response time is caused by poor web hosting.

Having said that, you should focus more on your average pagespeed of your website. If it loads within 3 seconds, it's awesome. However, if it take less than 5 to 6 seconds, it's okay. If it takes more than that, it definitely needs attention.

Talking about implications on AdWords performance, there isn't any specific one. But in general, a slower loading website affects user expeirence very badly which in turn affects your conversion rates negatively.

Thanks

Thank you Ratan-Jha, how would I test average page speed?

There are several third party tools online that will let you test website page speed in seconds. Search Google for gtmetrix or pingdom. I use them quite often.

All the best!
