Placing GA tracking code at bottom of website will not track properly?

Instead of placing the GA tracking code in head section, we have placed at the botttom of the page. Will it not track properly and will it show any discrepancies in the data tracked?

Hi Gayatri and welcome to the Community.

 

Actually, at the time of writing, Google is suggesting that the code be placed outside of the <head> section, immediately after the opening <body> tag.  Personally, I've never noticed much change in data reporting regardless of where the code is placed but if you'd like some more in-depth discussion you'd probably do better to head over to the Analytics forum.
