We currently have an outside company running a SEO campaign for the company. It has been told to us that we are not able to run an adwords campaing in conjuction with the outside company running a campaign on our behalf. We would like to know if this is correct.

Hi KGoyke,

You can do that, but it might not be the best idea. If both you and that company run campaigns targetting the same area and keywords, you will competing against each other. That will increase your CPC.

Oh, if you "own" the AdWords account, that is if the billing is direct to you rather than the other company, you won't be able to open a new account for the same domain without risking violation the double-serving policy. That could get you banned permanently.

Best of Luck!

Pete

Hello KGoyke,

Thanks for your question.

petebardo is right, if you have two accounts that are using the same/similar keywords, same targeting, and advertising the same website you are at risk of violating the Double Serving policy that can negatively affect your account. This link here has some further information on Double Serving if you want to read any further.

Hope this helps!

A.
