Hi,

I am looking to develop some mobile only search and display campaigns for ecommerce (separate). What best practices/tips can you share about optimizing each network to drive sales?

Hello davidcorman,

In my opinion, first and foremost point of consideration while talking about the mobile traffic and the mobile users would be considering a mobile friendly website, which fufills the basic requirements of how a mobile user would engage with your website and what all comforts you have for those segment of users.

Another best practice would be to have separate Search and Display Network Campaign as you rightly mentioned above.

It is important to identify unique set of keywords specifically for mobile users and you can do this using Keyword tool and selecting mobile devices only. This would give you an idea of which terms you should select while going mobile.

I would also encourage you to write separate text ads for mobile campaign which attracts mobile users to take action on your website.

In terms of Display Network campaign, basic strategy might remain identical to what is being followed for a regular desktop Display Campaign. However, you could bid higher for the placements/keywords in order to make sure that your ad is eligible for ad auction. This is because of the small screen of mobile devices making the competition more tough for mobile advertisers.

Hope that helps!
