I don't have much faith in location targeting.  "Where am I" in Google puts me a 2 1/2 hour drive away, outside the target area for my client.  At least Bing has me in the right state!

Any way to fix this?  I'm missing clicks and conversions!!

Hi Phil,

If perhaps you could elaborate on the settings you're using and the desired result, we may be able to assist you.

Hi Phil,

Google is not accurate in location targeting because it consider Ip Address to locate a user while for mobile devices locations are relatively accurate.
I suggest you to use wider Radius target so that you will not miss any costumer.

Hi Phil, determining a user's location can be variable in its accuracy but a lot will depend upon where you're actually targeting, the size of the area you're trying to target and to some extent the sort of audience you're targeting.

Although Google does use IP lookup as one indicator of location, it's not the only indicator so when assessing location based performance.

As Tommy has said, if you can give us some more details of the sort of area you're trying to target, and the nature of the business, we can maybe provide you with some more ideas.

Hi all,
I tried to post this the other day, but it didn't take for some reason.

One of my clients is a patent lawyer with offices in Boston, MA and Nashua, NH. I have campaigns for each, and the Nashua one targets all of NH, plus a 15mile radius around Nashua, which includes some towns in northern Massachusetts.

My office is in Nashua, but Googling Where am I puts me in Killington VT, even after clearing cookies and cache.

Bing puts me in Concord, NH, about 1/2 hour away, instead of 2 1/2 hours away.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Phil
