I have experienced several times in Adwords campaign. It is really a curiosity for me that how can be it possible that same landing page with different quality status in an Ad group? Could anyone explain it?

Hi Clal,

The Landing Page Experience and Quality Score is an AdWords estimate.. I will recommend to you:-

  • Your landing page should have more content about your company & Offered Products/Services,which is relevant to your ad text and keyword.
  • CTR is the main factor/ component in calculating QS. Work on your CTR.
  • Please work Ad Relevancy, Create multiple Ad Copies variation.

Example-

If any keywords has better CTR compare than other keywords within the ad groups then better CTR Keywords has maximum Quality Score and other keywords has lower quality score. This change calculate automatically on the basis of Keywords Performance (Including CTR, Ad Relevancy, Landing Page content relevancy).

Please go thgouhg the URL of Landing Page Experience:- https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2404197?hl=en

I hope this will help you.

Thanks,
Anand

Hi,

Yes, it can vary on the basis of different keywords and also in same Ad group too.

Keywords Quality Score simply depends on Relevancy ( with Ad copies and Landing Page) , Bid and CTR (past performance).

Now in your case, if you have different keywords or same keywords with different types in the Ad group then it is possible keywords quality score can vary for the same landing page.

Regards,

Hi Puspendra,

Thanks for your explanation but still problem is there.. What is the reason that Google calculates different quality status of same landing page with different set Keywords.

Hi Clal,

As other specialists said it is some sort of secret how AdWords calculate QS, one of the reason can be that people that clicked on your ad act differently with different set of keywords. In some cases they stay on your landing page longer with lower bounce rate and AdWords propose that content is more valuable for them, in other cases they stay less time and sooner return to Google Search.

Hi Clal,

While this isn't a direct answer, I always say its a far better use of advertisers' time to focus on the strategy, execution, and optimization of their AdWords accounts, vs the Quality Scores.  Yes, Quality Scores can lead to CPC fluctuations, but in the end, if you're targeting the right Keywords, writing relevant Ad Copy, provide a good landing page experience, and converting your customers, that is about all you can do.  Focus on the stuff you can directly control.  Just my advice.

Here is one example:

Suppose you have one landing page abc.html targeted with "nike jogging shoes" & [nike jogging shoes dealer in chicago].

Now, one keywords is phrase type and another keywords is exact type and both are related to nike shoes, also both are sharing common landing page abc, html in same Ad group.

Now suppose you get 10 clicks for phrase match keyword and 2 clicks for exact keyword in a day, in that scenario both keywords will have different Quality Score just because of match type, past CTR and bidding.

Same type if you have different keywords for same landing page Adwords will calculate Quality score just like above example.

Note: there are other factors also in Quality score – Device, Geo, landing page relevancy

Hello community member, What you have replied, I got the point but still I am looking for answer. Quality score of kyword is aggregate calculation of Expected clickthrough rate, Ad relevance and Landing page experience

 Hi @Clal LodhClal,

There is other factors , which also determine the quality score:

Geographical location, you may notice that same keywords has different Quality score in two different location, because both location has different behavior,

Device you have targeted, how well your ads and landing page are performing in different devices. Is your landing page responsive.

Now Coming to your question:-

Yes, because quality score calculates on real time basis, once your ads enter into ad auction.

e.g.

Case 1: your ads appear on the search term XYZ and your Ad 1 wins the ad auction, means the XYZ search term is more relevant with your triggered keyword, ads and landing page. In this case your Ad 1 achieve higher Quality score than Ad 2.

Case 2:  Now your ad appear on the search term PQR and your Ad 2 wins the ad auction, means the PQR search term is more relevant with your triggered keyword, ads and landing page. In this case your Ad2 achieve higher quality score.

In addition of this, the real time Quality score checks your past Ad's CTR, real time relevancy with the search term, ads and landing page and its experience.

I would also suggest you to watch this video to understand how ad auction works, which is defined by Quality score:
