Hi Jeewan,

Yes, there will be infighting between these two most often. The way out?

Bid comparatively higher on your Exact Match i.e. [best hotels in shimla]

Thanks

Hi @Jeewan G,

No there wouldn't be any internal competition.

One is exactly match and another is BMM. Both define a very specific search term so you can always get very accurate data how both they're triggered and the bidding won't fight each other.

And as a practice, we do put BMM and exact match in the same ad group because they have relatively few search volume.

Hope this helps!

Jason

Hi Jeewan,

I don't think, if they will fight each other because Google returns search result according to search query match. You can try all match type keywords in a single ad group but for the best monitoring, you should create different ads groups for different match types with the same ads copies, bids, settings and keywords. Only change match type.

Thanks.

Thank you @ Ratan ji for your reply. In that case CPC will be high for time being & over the time or not.

Jeewan, bidding high on Exact Match does make sense because you get more targeted clicks for your ads, which means such clicks are more likely to convert. And after all that's what one advertises for.

When you talk about CPC, it should obviously be higher on Exact Match, not just now but even over time. But it should give you the real worth for it if this keyword works better for you. Make sure everything else is aligned properly to your core advertising goal. Though, working with your QS will eventually make you pay less. So, keep optimizing Smiley Happy

All the best!

Thanks

Hi Jeewan,

Your keywords will match different search queries. If both a BMM and exact match keyword are eligible for the general auction, Google will generally pick the exact match. That assumes the QS for both keywords is the same and the bid for the exact match is higher. That is not always true. Let's look at the keywords.

+shimla +hotels will match
shimla hotels
best shimla hotels
shimla best hotels
shimla hotels
best hotels in shimla
cheap shimla hotels

[best hotels in shimla] will match only:
best hotels in shimla

The only search query that will match both is best hotels in shimla. Most of the time, the exact match will enter the general auction.

Best of Luck!
