Keyword level destination URL - effects and mobile

Hey,

So I'm being forced to track my traffic at the keyword level (3rd party auto bidding software).

I'm not sure how this effects my performance.

specifically, now I wont be able to rotate ads with different landing pages to test performance.

and most of all how do i separate mobile and PC/tablet LP's in an ad group?

My landing pages are responsive but i like to use dedicated mobile LP's with mobile ads.

am i going to lose that option?

Hi Eyal,

Welcome to AdWords Community.

Can't comment on the third party tool you are using.

But when it comes to having separate landing pages for mobile devices, you can have that. When you create a new text ad AdWords gives you a CheckBox for device preference. Use your mobile landing page in the destination URL and tick the Checkbox for mobile device preference.

Thanks
Ratan

The Keyword destination URL overrides the ad's URL. so checking the box in the ad that sets it as a mobile ad is ok but it only means that that mobile ad will be served to a mobile user but the URL which is coming from the keyword level will send the user to the PC landing page.

Yes, that's right and that'show it is.

Now I could understand what you exactly mean.

It means that your third party tool is targeting only keyword level URLs and does not let you target based on ad level URLs, right?

If that is the case, we cannot help you much. it would be nice if you connect with that that third party tool provider only.

Thanks

Hi Eyal,
Have you tried using {ifmobile:m.example.com/widgets}{ifnotmobile:www.example.com/widgets} this sytntax for keyword level destination URLs?
This way you can have different landing pages by device type.
Hope this helps

Hi Sorry for delayed response.
Lets sayy TLID for desktop is 11111 and for mobile is 22222
{ifmobile:go.domain.com/ReDir.aspx?TLID=11111}{ifnotmobile:go.domain.com/ReDir.aspx?TLID=22222}&utm_source=google&utm_medium=search&UTM_Term={matchtype}_{keyword}&utm_content=ad_group_name=campaign_name&ADServer={creative}&ADdata={device}
Does that help?
