Just cannot get a conversion from this site, at all.

I'm running a few campaigns for myself for different business with moderate success.

So I'm trying to help my mother-in-law out and get her some business.

I've gotten 25 clicks, not a SINGLE conversion. I've never seen anything like this.

If anyone can shed some light on this that would be great:

site is http://phelpsdermatology.com

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Ryan,

Question for you, before I give you my opinion. Is the URL that you provided the destination URL for all of your ads?

Yes, for now. That URL.

Hi Ryan, as I suspect Shanea is going to discuss, the destination URL itself is probably less than ideal.  I think a start on the site would be to remove the requirement to click just to scroll up information that's lower down the screen - showing it immediately would make more sense.  However, I'll let others discuss the site.

As for 25 clicks and no conversions generally, that's really not enough time or data to make any kind of informed decision.  If you got just 1 conversion from 25 clicks that'd be a conversion rate of 4%, which may be OK for your settings, but it'd still be very close to 4% if that conversion came on the 26th click.  Trying to analyse AdWords performance based upon so small a sample is going to produce unreliable results.  Sales online are rarely - if ever - an ordered, linear process.  People don't buy on the hour every hour every day so while you're looking at 25 clicks and 0 conversions, tomorrow it could be 30 clicks and 2 conversions.

Don't forget also that for some businesses/products, conversions take time and/or multiple clicks.  If someone clicked your Ad on Monday and were interested, they may not decide to go ahead and book an appointment for days, or even weeks.  If you've stopped running Ads by the time they decide to book, they may not find you again so a potential conversion is lost.

It's really important to ensure that AdWords has statistically significant data upon which to base decisions and that Campaigns are given a reasonable time period to run.

Yes Ryan @Jon_Gritton is correct I was going to discuss your landing page. Here's some basic information about landing pages. We recommend to people (if you have the time and/or budget) to make more tailored landing pages to your ads and ad copy. Will the people that live in Beverly Hills respond to the same landing page/ad copy as those in Santa Monica?  Keep that in mind as you are planning. "Who" are you targeting in which ad.

Also I had no idea to click until (Cobnut said something). I would definitely agree to have that info upfront. You also have the phone number at the bottom.

Here are some basic tips about the Landing Page experience

I would echo the comments already made - but I'd also like to ask - what are you measuring as a conversion? Someone making an inquiry - or booking an appointment - and how is this being tracked? I didn't want to get you all excited by making an appointment to find out ;-)

I don't see any tracking code on the page so I guess there might be a "thank you" type page with conversion code on it...

There's a lot on the site that is conspicuous by its absence - there really is little information and nowhere for visitors to find out a little more about the Dr - just make an appointment, an inquiry or see the map... or phone - and that is where I suspect any real contact is likely to be being made.

I would certainly look at adding some call tracking - and definitely adding landing pages for the different specialisms....

Hi Guys,
Actually, the front intro page was removed for this week of testing, we put it back in last night.

As far as conversions, we are measuring conversions differently on this page. They are through the phone number. There have been no form fills at all, and barely any calls.

We think the lack of content is deterring people, not giving them a sense of safety. We tried too hard to do a 2.0 site, and I think it's hurting us.

Thoughts?

Hi Ryan,

We really Appreciate your initiate to promote your mother-in-law's account, Yes As you said lack of content issue is there apart from that you're redirecting the visitors to a page where they have to click to get down, where they can find some good info. Why can't you Redirect on that section directly by creating Dynamic URL. If you're going with limited budget it is always good to target a specific location (Clinic Location) and make sure you are going with Location and call Extensions.

We Wish you All the Best.

Thanks,
Octos Team

First of all, Do something good with your landing page. Think from customer point of view. Focus on Geo too. Don't push keywords which having high volume but push keyword which are very relavant to your business. I am not sure which keywords you are targeting but perhaps it can help you. Keywords + Your clinic or nearby location definately help you to get quality customer.

How many are "barely any calls"? The reason I ask is that if there has been one call from 25 clicks - that might not be so bad - 4%..... 2 calls would be 8%....
