Imptrove keywords on video campagins

Hi there,

I hope anyone out there may help me with one doubt regarding bidding and keywords on video campagins.

When it comes to optimizing, should increase or decrease the bids on those keywrods with a higher VR?
Which VR would be a good one?

I´m working in a company where I´m learning this on my own, and sometimes is really difficult! According to the account manager we liaise on Google, I should decrease the bids on those keyword which are doing better, stop the keywords doing really band and on those keywors where the result is not great but we still want to pitch agains, we should increase the bids slightly.

Is that correct?

Many thanks for you help in advance.

Kind Regards

Miguel

Hi there,

I've escalated this issue to a specialist for clarification. You should hear an update soon.

Thanks for your patience,

Hi

My experience of AdWords for Video and CPV is still rather limited but I run it for a few clients and do have thoughts similar to yours. Here are some initial comments:

- doing good/bad is measured by... yes what? Personally I prefer conversions, but I do realise that the branding value of a video-view can be high.

- other things to give weight: follow on views & website clicks

- VR probably differs a lot by ad format. At least in my campaigns, In-Stream has a much higher VR than other formats.

Hi @David_Precisera

Many thanks for your time!

I'm only take care of the biggest film distribuitor so as you can guess, the 70% of my time is around video campaigns.

I was wondering if you could help me out with oune doubt. We are launching a film on Thursdays, a big one. The completion rate is doing great, so is doing the View Rate for some targetting group and the cost -€0.4 CPV. When it comes to optimizing, my feeling is that at the beginning of the campagin is better to increase the bids on those targets which are getting a better VR and them, once closer to the release, cut dow the bids just to foucs on the core audience -and in order to get a better CVP.

What would your recommendation be?

Kind Regards

Miguel

Hi Miguel

That´s sound like a pretty good idea, given your goals, which I guess has more to do with branding than conversions in terms of selling tickets online.

What kinds of and how do you choose your targets? Are you using Topics and Interest Categories?

Hi David

Yes, that' the thing. Our campagins are just an excercise of branding. We need to deliver the message -views- and doing while getting a good completion rate.

I"m actually using almost ten Target Gropus -keywords, placements, topics, interest and remarketing list.

What would be your advice?

Kind Regards

Miguel

Hi

What´s your definition of "completion rate"?

If your goal is to target as many people as possible, I´d take a look at the "Unique viewers report". Of course follow-on views, subcriptions and the length of the view could also be significant measures
