I would like to get my cost per click lower. Any ideas?

My cost per click is very high on Adwords express and I am getting a few keyword combinations that are not producing many calls but a lot of clicks which is hurting my budget. I am open to any suggestions to help make my hard earned money go a little further.

Hi William,

Unfortunately, AdWords Express strips out some advanced functionality, in order to streamline the advertiser experience and get your ads up and running quicker, so you are limited in your options.

If you are open to switching to the full AdWords experience, I would suggest utilizing the following to lower click costs and increase calls:

  • long tail keyword variations (lower traffic, but higher relevance)
  • ad scheduling (only running ads when you can field phone calls)
  • test your ad copy (compel people to call vs click)
  • negative keywords (which eliminate impressions for queries that you do not wish to display for i.e. cutting costs)

I hope this helps, and best of luck!
