How to separate daily budget during the day (for ex. 10%-20%-70%)?

Can you help me to figure out how to setup the following:

We would like to set different budget for a campaign throughout the day.

1. 6.00 - 12.00: 3 000 HUF
2. 12.00 - 16.00: 2 000 HUF
3. 17.00 - 23.00: 10 000 HUF

What is the easiest, most convenient way to set this up?

We don't want to manage 3 different campaigns with different scheduling. But couldn't find the right way to do it!

Your help is really appreciated!

Hi There,

Welcome to AdWords Community.

In one campaign we cant set different budget for different timings. Instead you can use ad schedule bid adjustment is the possible way to split your budget. But i don't think so it will be useful to you, because it only decrease or increase keyword bids might not works for exact % budget split.

Creating different campaigns for different ad scheduling is the right way to split the budget.

Wait for more suggestions from other community members.

thanks,
Aravindhu.

Hi,

Can you tell us why you want to distribute the budget during day. In this way, you are forcing the AdWords to work on a manual ways, Give the AdWords to optimize the budget and allocate the budget as per the search trends of whole day.

if I come to your concern, you need to create different campaigns for three different budget and use Ad Scheduling.

Hi @Pools C you could do this by using Automated Rules or Scripts but I think the results could be unpredictable.  When you have a budget set for an entire day, AdWords manages the display of your Ads to try and hit that budget as closely as possible.  If you change the budget multiple times during the day, the system is going to be constantly re-evaluating how often your Ads can be shown and I'm not sure it'll work well.

As has been suggested, a better approach might be to use bid adjustments through Ad Scheduling.  A sufficiently high negative bid adjustment should reduce costs substantially as your Ads appear much lower in the results.

Alternatively if there are very good reasons for splitting the budget like this, I'd recommend using three separate Campaigns.  Copying one Campaign into three takes about 2 minutes using the AdWords Editor.
