How to increase visibility for an ad

There's an ad that seems to get better results than another ad that shows more frequently. Is there an option to increase exposure for the ad that isn't?

Hi @Dean H,

You can use Ad Rotation feature. By default, AdWords will pick the better performing ads and show them more often. Better performing ads means ads which are getting better CTR. If you use this default setting, it positively affects several things in your campaign. It gives you better CTR in general and when you get better CTR, you get better QS, and eventually you pay lesser.

However, there can be instances when you may need exposure for other ads as well. There are two options for you in this scenario - 1. Rewrite your lower performing ads and make them more relevant, targeted, and and action oriented. Or 2. Use Ad Rotation and rotate ads evenly.

Rotating ads evenly - Once you enable it, the system will not optimize your ads for clicks or conversions, it will start showing your lower performing ads more evenly with higher performing ads.

You will find this option under Advanced Settings at your campaign's Settings tab.

Read more about it here - https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/112876?hl=en

If you can't see Advanced Settings, it means you are using Standard campaign, you will need to switch to 'All Features' to see these settings.

All the best!

Yes there is, but this may cause your budget to run out early.
You can opt for accelerated delivery of ads from the delivery methods in the setting tab.

Actually if you wish that your ad should occupy more space on the SERP, then use the ad extensions(search campaigns).

Hi Ratan- It looks like the key here is that the ads frequency of exposure is based on CTR. But we're doing CPA bidding which doesn't necessarily focus on CTR but actual conversions.

If I was to select Rotate Ads Evenly, does it really need 90 days before optimizing? Because it's a mid volume campaign with decent impressions. Does Google optimize in say 30 days?

And what effect,if any, does trying these other options have on CPA bidding?
