How to block Opera mini proxy IPs with adwords IP exclusion

Hello,

We are trying to block Opera mini browser users to see our search campaign because of high bounce rate. We came across that adwords does not

support browser blocking.

so we thought of blocking Opera mini proxy IPs range with IP exclusion tool. so we made a list of IPs range as below and entered those in IP exclusion of our search campaign .

37.228.105.*

37.228.107.*
37.228.104.*
37.228.106.*

But still we are getting traffic from above range of IPs even after next day of blocking IPs. so IP exclusion was not working with above ip range.

Can you give us the solution for this?

Hello Jogos,

Welcome to AdWords Community.

Will you please verify that your Campaign Type does NOT match with the following:

  • "Search Network with Display Select - Standard"
  • "Search Network only - Standard"
  • "Display Network only – Standard"
  • "Display Network only – Ads in mobile apps"

IP exclusions are not available for the above campaign types.

Thanks
Ratan

Hello Ratan,
Thanks for your response. Campaign type is Search Network only - All features.
We have the option IP exclusions in campaign settings and we are using as i mentioned in previous post.
But its not working. we are still getting hits from exclusion proxy IPs.

Yes, Jogos. You already said you are using the feature Smiley Happy .

Coming back to the question-

Have you tried blocking a few full IPs from this range? I mean without the WildCard?

Does it work?

Meanwhile, I don't think AdWords IP Exclusion feature supports exclusion of Proxy IPs. Though, I couldn't find any official AdWords article for the same. But, I believe it is practically much more difficult to exclude proxies.

No, We haven't tried that because of 500 IP addresses limitation for campaign.

Yes Jogos, with that limitation in place, you still can test a set up full IP addresses to check if the traffic from the said browser decreases.

However, it is more difficult than said. These proxies are huge in number, they keep changing. Hence I do not think you can achieve what you are trying to achieve through IP Exclusion.

I found a similar thread at https://www.en.adwords-community.com/t5/Advanced-Features/How-to-exclude-visitors-based-on-browser-O...

You should refer it.

Thanks
Ratan
