How can I un target WAP devices using Display?

Good morning everyone,

I am trying to find out if there is a way to un target WAP devices?

My guess would be to target by OS and make sure I only select the latest OS versions. Is this the only (and easiest way) besides the device list?

Thanks :-)

Hi Wicked,

Glad to help!

If that is the goal, then I can tell you straight off that there is no way to do it. The 'other' category is the bane of many advertisers, it is an unknowable category that you are not able to affect. There are a number of articles out there, perhaps give them a read to ease your mind.

Good Luck

HI Wicked,

It is my understanding (and I do stand to correction on this) that unless you specifically create wap ads your normal text and image ads will not show on feature phones but only phones with full browsers. Even if your ad is mobile prefered, this is not the same as a wap ad.

Hope that helps

Hi Clynton,

thank you for taking the time to reply! That's exactly what I thought as well. The tricky part is the fact that the high number of clicks I am looking at are being described as 'other'

After pressing the info button in the 'Other' category is shows:
____________________
Other (Devices)

Depending on the date range you’re viewing, this row reflects the following activity on the Google Network:

Prior to June 3, 2009:

Activity for all devices

On or after June 3, 2009:

WAP mobile devices
Devices that are not computers or mobile devices with full browsers
Special offline ad formats (both current and discontinued)
____________________

Perhaps I am wrong, perhaps the clicks are not coming from WAP ads but something else?

The goal for me is to eliminate the 'other' devices.

Thank you :-)
