Google keyword suggestion tool in Ad Planner

Hi All,

From last couple of weeks, Google Keywords Suggestion Tool has been replaced with the Ad planner tool.

Adwords users like me who are so used to the previous tool finds it very difficult to search for the keywords suggestions, local search volume, global search volume for the keywords.

I liked the concept of integrating old tool into the new one but with similar structure as it was very user friendly.

Would like to know others' opinion about this.

regards,

Naren

Hi Naren,
The one constant with Google is change.

The old keyword tool is not coming back. I liked it, but after forcing myself to use the keyword planner, I think it's better.

The local and global figures were never even close and they were more of a distraction. It's better to run campaigns and use the volume figures from your own data if that's important to you.

Get used to it. You have no choice.

We've tried to simplify the tool by showing data based on your targeting. You can still get local and global monthly searches by changing the locations you are targeting, as described in this article (https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/3141229). Keyword suggestions should be the same though.

We would love to know how you were using local and global monthly searches.

I agree with you. Using the new keyword planner tool has been very frustrating. I miss the automatic ad groups that gives you a birds eye view of what your targeting or what the campaign structure may need to include. I miss automatically seeing negative keyword categories or being able to refine the results by adding negative keywords in the planner. While I think the tool is useful to a certain extent, when you're planning a new project, it can create a lot more work for the user in categorizing and refining the keywords that will be most beneficial. I will be searching for a paid keyword planning solution.
