Google adwords - getting to page 1 guarenteed

Hi,

I want to list under "gloves" and "glove" on Google adwords. The first is highly competitive according to google and the other low. How do I guarentee getting to page 1 on this list?

Any help would be brilliant, thanks in advance.

There's no gaurantee, but if you have all the money on the world, you could just bid say - $10,000,000 Max CPC, and set your daily bidget even higher. Most of us though, don't have all the money in the world. Smiley Happy

Are glove and gloves your top two revenue generating terms? Are those terms worth the potential cost to show on the first page? Maybe there are some other terms that could get you on the first page for less of a max CPC, and generae more revenue?

Tom

what kind of gloves? Just all kinds?

If you want an idea of what you need to pay to be at the top of the search results page then enable the first page bid estimates and top of page bid estimates to show.

Go to the KEYWORDS tab and the find the COLUMNS button and the attributes section and add those two metrics to your user interface. You can then get an idea of what you need to bid for top positions.

Ideally you also work hard on the Quality Score so that you can eventually back the bids down but remain in the same positions.

Quality Score X Max CPC = AdRank (position in auction)

Like many people have contributed already, there isn't a guarantee you'll be in the top position for each auction. However, Google does provide you an estimated top page bid for each of your keywords. This should probably give you a good idea on what it'll take to give yourself the best chance of achieving position 1. Open the campaign these keywords are in and click on the keyword tab. Under the keyword tab click on 'columns -> customize columns'. Under attribute metrics you can add 'estimated top page bid'.

Hopefully this helps.

In most cases bidding $10 will do the trick, (this doesn't mean  you will have to pay $10, it will be lessSmiley Happy

Just test and see how it works on your ROI.

Predicting how an Adwords campaign will respond without actually doing it, is near to impossible. So  just do it : TEST !

Hi, easyoffgloves!

Increasing your max CPC and improving quality score can help you to reach your goal.

So, make sure your ad has a high quality score
