Is the Google Inbox ad included in search when I run an Adwords campaign or does it get set up completely differently outside of Adwords?

As far as I remember, it's called Gmail ad and is part of a display campaign only. When you set it up, you also get specific columns in the report related to Gmail clicks and clicks to web site reported separately.

Well, as said by Savita K, Gmail ads are available for Display Campaigns but if you are talking about using 'client listings', this feature is available for:

- Youtube campaigns

- Display campaigns (Gmail ads)

- Search campaigns

Take a look to About Customer Match from adwords help.

According the context of your question, i assume you are asking by Gmail Ads.

Gmail ads are composed by a group of ads (specific for Gmail) included in an Specific "Display Network only" Campaign. So, you must create a separate campaign for them or use an already existing display campaign adding an "Interest and remarketing" targeting

(take a look to Upload data files and manage your Customer Match audiences

HI Madlie,

Gmail Ad's can be ran through display network, selecting mail.google.com as your preferred placement.
