Hi Adwords masters,

Till Sep the clicks were gradually increasing but from Oct it started to fall. In comparison to Nov 1st to 25th to Dec 1st to 25th the Google/ CPC has fell from 49.80% to 13.98% due to which the total no. of visits on the site fell by 43.81%. The good thing is (direct)/ (none) increase from 11.85 % to 58.53 %. If this increase in (direct)/ (none) was not there then the fall in number of visitors to the site would have been whooping 64.84%. Please advise what is going wrong.

Hello luthfe,

In order to protect your own AdWords privacy, I advise you to remove your CID from the post. Thank you!

It looks like you are referring to the number of visits to your website which you are tracking using Google Analytics here.

Did you witness loss of traffic in December only or it happened earlier also?

I hope you have linked your Google Adwords with Google Analytics. If I talk specifically about Adwords here, did you make any major changes in the month of September which affected your Adwords clicks? Sometimes the affect is not very quick but rather slow and gradual.

So one way of identifying it would be to look at the Change history report and see what could be the reason of lack of Adwords clicks.

What is the your Search Impression share, Search Exact Match Impresssion Share and Search Lost IS (rank)?

There might be possibility that fluctuation in these numbers could have kept you away from the competition leading to lesser Adwords traffic.

Let us know if that helps!

Pankaj

Dear Pankaj Sir,

Thanks for replying to my issue. As advice I have removed CID number. I had kept so that experts can visit my account and check out for the core issue. Just for my general knowledge what can be worst scenario if my CID is used in unethical way?

In the history I found that from Aug I had add & changed status of keywords and on 27th Sep I had "Opted out of search network", "Settings was updated" & "Setting Data changed". I don't exactly remember why I had opted out of search network but what I have noticed that the CTR which use to hover at 0.08% to 0.10% started to increase from month of  Aug. In Aug it is showing 0.13%, Sep 0.12%, Oct 0.17%, Nov 0.14% & Dec 26th 0.17%.

Sir, What is "Search Impression share", "Search Exact Match Impressions" & "Share and Search Lost IS (rank)" and how get these details?

Warm Regards,

Hello,

Sharing any personal identifiable info on the public forum is not allowed and is against the posting guidelines of Adwords Community.

In order to see what all Impression Share reporting metrics means, please refer to this link.

If you are already not running ads on Google Search Network, so that means your traffic is only coming via Google Display Network. Honestly, I can't answer why you opted out of that network, but in order to optimize your Display Network, you can cross check the automatic placements or managed placements as if how your ads are performing there and are there any specific keywords you have included which Google is using contextually to target on the respective domains on GDN.

Hope that helps!

Pankaj

Dear Pankaj Sir,

Thanks you for your reply.

I had stopped running adv. on Google Search Network as the conversation rate {in my case visiting contact us page} was very low.

Sir, I think I found the answer. As I started to monitor on day to day basis, I analysed that the clicks through CPC are not or partially getting registered on Analytics.

For 30 Dec on Adwords it showing 17 clicks and on Adsense 46 Page view but on Analytics it showing only clicks from (direct) / (none), google / organic & google.co.uk / referral but not a single  from google/ CPC and page view as 51.

For 29 Dec on Adwords it showing 22 clicks and on Adsense 48 Page view but on Analytics it showing only clicks from (direct) / (none) & google / organic but only ONE single click from google / CPC and page veiw as 58.

This goes on for other dates also.

Please assist to get correct reports.

Warm Regards

Hello again Luthfe,

Please note that there is a difference between clicks you receive in Adwords and the visits which are recorded under Analytics. Sometimes the user simply clicks your ad and doesn't reach the website and quits before that. In this case, you will see a click in Adwords but no visit in Analytics.

Please review this link explaining more on these kind of discrepancies arising between Adwords and Analytics.

I would also like to stress on holiday season here because of which you might receive low traffic as compared to other normal days.

Dear Pankaj Sir,

Thank you very much for the link, I have gone through most of the points. Everything looks fine, for few points I have to take help of Webmaster.

As we are in business of legalising documents from India therefore we are immune from seasonal or festive variation.

Sir as per analysis of data I strongly believe there is issue of Adwords clicks not get registered on Analytics.
