Does Encrypting My Page (HTML/CSS) Affect My Quality Score?

Hi,

I decided to encrypt my site code to prevent scraping my landing pages by newbies.

Does it somehow affect my quality score?

Just wondering.

Thanks.

Hello and welcome,

Honestly I don't find any direct relation between the Quality Score and the encrypted pages as such. But what I presume is that if you are running an e-commerce website, then make sure that when the user creates the account, he/she is directed to the secure pages of your website and rest of the steps included while completing the check out process should also be secure (i.e. HTTPS). That's my understanding.

For details on how landing page quality should be, you might consider giving a reading to this article.

Hi Leo 2015,

I am curious as to what you mean by encrypting. If you mean https, that is not a problem.

If your main page is http and the code comes from https, you may run into cross-site scripting restrictions.

If you mean some other sort of encryption, please let us know.

Best of Luck!

Pete
