Do low QSs truly "drag down" the rest of an AW account over time?
I've read this statement many times from different blogs, but don't remember coming across a specific statement from Google regarding this.
Is it just a myth, or reality, that having lots of bad keywords (i.e., low QS) can actually create some kind of a negative effect on an entire campaign and even entire account?

While there is a lot of speculation around aggregate level Quality Scores, individual quality scores are paramount and calculated, well, individually. That being said, Quality Score is an extremely complicated metric comprised of many components, some of which may be shared across an entire campaign. For example, some quality score information is actually stored at the URL level, so if an entire campaign points towards the same landing page, that component of each KeyWords' Quality Score will be shared.
Hope this helps,
