Do Display Network Campaign Keywords Compete with my Search Network Campaign Keywords?

I have two campaigns running - one search and one display, for the same company. I want to use the same keywords for both campaigns as they describe the company's product the best.

Obviously on the display network campaign - the keywords are being utilized as one of the targeting options. I'm also targeting by a topic and an interest in addition to the keywords.

Are those separate campaigns' keywords going to compete with each other?

Hi Megan,

Both campaigns Keywords will not compete with each other because both campaign run Search ( Ads will appear on Google. com) Display (Ads will run publisher websites) Network Separatly.

Please find below the ref links on both networks for more details:

Display Network: http://www.google.com/ads/displaynetwork/
Search Network: http://support.google.com/adwords/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=90956

I hope this will help you.
Thanks,
Anand
