Display Network Targeting

If display network uses only broad match types... can we add negative keywords to placements to limit the reach to audience or can we use location targeting?? Which one would be better?

Location targeting is used to limit your ads appearing in a selected geographic location. Location targeting selection will not help you to limit your ad's exposure to a selected audience within that selected location.

You need to use negative keywords for that.

Hi Lanyo,

First of all we only use broad keywords with display network. Exact and phrase has no relevance in dispplay network.

Secondly, I never use negative keywords in display network even with keyword targeting. I prefer to do site and category exclusion, and prefer to exclude placements which are not profitable and like to add profitable placement as managed placement.

We also have demogtaphic targeting in display network for more control.

Negative keywords one of the most important factor for the success of search campaign but as display works diffently and we are not targeting direct users with display network we can not use thousand of negative keywords as we do for search campaign. you can add few negatives that you really wanna use and which are higly unwanted.
