Display Network Charging for CPC not CPM. How?

Type: Display Network only - All features

Bid strategy: Focus on impressions, manual maximum CPM bidding

Ad delivery: Ad rotation, frequency capping:

Ad rotation: Optimise for clicks: Show ads expected to provide more clicks

Frequency capping: Impression cap per user per day For each ad group: 12

Now tell me with above settings, How google charging on CPC when I selected CPM?

FYI. yesterday report Clicks - 67, Impr - 1,01,239,  CTR - 0.07%, Cost - Rs. 1,070.97

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Hello Mansoor,
Welcome the community !
You are not doing anything wrong, Google charged you Money on the basis of your CPM( Cost per thousand impression) bidding not on CPC bases. Your CPC calculated by back end system i.e according to your given data your Avg. CPC is COST/Clicks( Rs. 15.98) . The same thing you can calculate in your CPC feature. Please find more info here : https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/18260?hl=en-GB . Hope this help you understand the both metrics.

Hi Jitender,

The confusion is simple.

67 clicks from Rs 1070 so Ave CPC 15.98 it clearly shows that adwords charging on CPC not CPM. Am I Right?

Hi Mansoor,

Jitender is spot on, The AdWords system only show you calculated avg CPC, of your campaigns. Your campaigns has been charged based on CPM Bidding, but calculation purpose, AdWords system show you the Avg CPC.

Mansoor, I think you understand the calculation, Is very simple As you mention your CPM Budget is Rs. 1000 & Google spent Rs. 1070 i.e right no issue. According to google algorithm your spent can go upto 20% from your set budget. How system calculate Avg. cpc = CPM Cost/Clicks. How system calculate CMP for same CPC Campaigns = Cost/Impression *1000
I think you understand my point. let me know if you have any confusion on it.
