Display Campaign Advice

I have a las Vegas tourism oriented firm (off strip), that wants to build brand awareness that their somewhat atypical product exists...  I need some help as Display Campaigns are not my strength now.  I provide some details below.  If something else would help I will provide it.  I can't disclose too much company info.

 

Campaign budget $40/day

- for the sake of argument, assume below standard image creatives, text ads are in force too.

ADGROUP:  I am doing the remarketing and that is ok.    .07 CTR  .89 aCPC

 

ADGROUP:  Display keyword "Las Vegas".   Topic Travel/Air Travel.   $4 maxCPC  aCPC is $2.89   .04 CTR 

 

ADGROUP: I have a bunch of managed placements.  The top 4-5 in the list get the majority of the clicks/impressions.  .06 CTR.  Max CPC is $3, aCPC is $1.80 overall.   No display keyword.

Hey,

 

I would suggest you to open more ad-groups with more specific keywords to reach more sites in the "automatic placements" - such as: "travel to Las Vegas" / " Las Vegas hotels" / " Las Vegas weather" (choose Las Vegas weather only  if you don't advertise in Las Vegas - but only other cities in the US).

 

Another suggestion is to open another display campaign targeting  "GMAIL" + relevant keywords.

Hello dougSB;

Why aren't you using keywords and specific reach to target only relevant pages that match contextual targeting on these sites?

Hi,

 

Just as a short addition I'd mention that the Ad group ideas (Beta) tool is now part of the Keyword tool. You may retrieve additional proposals by means of that tool. However, remember to double-check every item for relevance. That's the tender spot.

In this case I'd also recommend using a variety of image ad sizes and creatives in your campaign to make the most of the inventory available on the Display Network. Not all sites support all ad sizes or formats, so having a decent variety of ads will stand you in good stead.
