Difference in number of click throughs in Google Adwords and Google Analytics

Recently, we ran an Adwords campaign and paide for about 2300 'click throughs' to our web site but at the end of the campaign Google Analytics only showed 175 'referrals' from google ads. Can anyone explain why there is such a large difference in what we paid and what the analytics indicates we received?

Hi Brookgreen,

Such differences are normal. I think the attached help file will explain most of the discrepancies.

Hi Brookgreen,

I can understand your problem. I temporarily split into two cases:

- You found the difference between the number of visits (analytics report) - clicks ( adwords report)

- The different between click number in analytics report and Adwords report

In the first case, you can check out this link: http://support.google.com/analytics/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1257084

In the second, you should double check linking adwords account and analytics account. May be we have problem on this process. ( http://support.google.com/analytics/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1033961)

Hope this help you,

Gud luck !
