Device specific ad groups

Hi all, I am wondering whether anyone can help me with the following query.

I have a keyword that performs really well so will be placing it in its own campaign. Within this campaign I was planning on placing the same keyword split across the three devices and modifying the device bids accordingly so that it would only show for the device I am targeting. It has only just dawned on me ,however, when building said campaign, that due to the keyword being the exact same (word for word and match type) across the 3 ad groups, that it may only show for one AG, perhaps if one has a better quality score, for whatever reason.

Thanks in advance.

To expand on the above, to make it slightly clearer how I would modify bids... in the mobile AG, for example, I was planning on reducing tablet and desktop bids by -100% whilst leaving mobile bids as they are.

Thus removing all chances of tablet and desktop traffic, and then same again in the other two.

Hi,

I'm not sure if I'm understanding, are you asking if this strategy would work?

If that is your question then yes it would, separating Ad Groups by device is fairly common when you're wanting to optimise campaigns.
